Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell started her job as a journalist for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. In 1976, she joined CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV which was based in Washington DC (then WTOP). The following year, she was a general correspondent at NBC News in Washington. Since 1981 she began covering the White House. In 1988 she was named the chief journalist for Congress. When she joined NBC News in 1992, Mitchell was named to be the chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 she became the chief foreign affairs correspondent in NBC News. Mitchell was a guest on the TV news show Meet the Press as a panelist and host. She was on the panel during the 1988 presidential debates between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell received the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell worked in for the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell reported on a wide range of noteworthy stories including arm control, tax reform for the budget and the Iran-contra scandal. She also went on numerous trips together with the president Reagan to summits with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world heads.
